What is permanent makeup?Permanent makeup is a form of cosmetic tattooing. It is a process of delicately implanting pigment into the skin for aesthetic purposes which will enhance and build up colour in areas of the facial features. Special techniques, pigments and tools are used to provide a natural looking result that is tailored to each individual. Results are long lasting with regular touch up appointments.

Do I need a consultation? At the start of every treatment, you will receive a full consultation to discuss in detail about your goals and preferences to find out what techniques are most suitable for you. If you prefer, you can book in for a separate 15 minute consultation appointment. This is highly recommended if you have existing permanent makeup that was carried out by another artist.
-
Do I need a patch test?Patch tests are not mandatory and an allergic reaction is rare, alternatively, the patch test kit can be sent out to you through the post.
-
How do I book myself in?There is a treatment tab that will direct you to all information of each treatment where you can click to book directly.
-

What happens during my first new treatment appointment? You may want to come prepared with some photos of shapes and colours you like. I will guide you through your options of techniques, colour choices and then sketch out a pre drawing on the treated area which can be adjusted to your preference. I will only proceed to the next step once you are comfortable and happy with the pre-drawing. Most people need at least 2 appointments and depending on what treatment will depend on how many weeks apart to achieve the desired effects. Once your first initial treatment has been completed, you will then be asked to book in for your next session at a different price.

Can permanent makeup look natural?Absolutely. If you are after a natural looking result with permanent makeup, you are in good hands! I understand that everyone's definition of 'natural' can vary so by giving you the option of being able to build the colour gradually through multiple sessions, you are in control. There are also many different effects to choose from. My goal is to create the most natural looking 'undetectable' forms of permanent makeup that makes a big difference.
-
Is permanent makeup a painful procedure? Most people will feel a slight scratching sensation on the skin during the procedure with minimal discomfort, some people have even mentioned that they find the treatment relaxing! If you are worried about pain, you can obtain a topical anaesthetic such as Emla or LMX-4 at a pharmacy which you can apply before the treatment.

What to expect during the healing process?Everyone heals slightly differently and the healing time for each individual can vary slightly depending on your skin and the area that was worked on. The enhancement will look more defined and darker while healing but once healed, can lose up to 20-60% of the pigment. It can take up to 6-12 weeks (depending on which treatment is booked) for the skin to fully regenerate in order to see the final result of each treatment. Please follow all aftercare advice given to get optimum results.

When should I touch up my permanent makeup?Once fully healed, your permanent makeup will gradually fade off the skin over time. There are several factors that could contribute to how much the skin can retain the pigment and how quickly they fade. Factors including skin type, health, medication, diet, sun exposure and skincare (retinol/tretinoin and acids) which can contribute to a faster fade. Once you have achieved the desired results, it is highly recommended to return for regular touch up appointments every 6-18 months to keep your permanent makeup looking its best.
